Today is one of those days where errands are at the top of my list. First off, I went off to see my hairdresser, who is an extraordinary lady. She is remarkable in that she took excellent care of her mom and dad, when they were terminally ill. She lost her mother, who was her best friend as well as her mother.
She and I were discussing how our moms were much alike and that our relationships with our moms were/are unique, genuine and heartfelt. We both concurred that our moms were extraordinary women that we would be lost without, for our love for them is immeasurable and that we could talk to our moms about everything and anything. She misses her mom so much as I know I would be heartbroken if anything ever happened to my mom. We are kindred spirits in that respect and many more.
My sweetie hairdresser never lets me pay for cutting my hair, listening to my life stories that a psychologist would be hard pressed to figure out, advising me on shampoo, brushes and so much more. She is so incredibly strong and I don't know where she finds the strength to deal with everything that is on her plate.
When I receive my new lungs, Val, my mom and I are off to visit and bug my cousin, Huckleberry. Notice, I said bug, not harass. No doubt, he will be thinking or perhaps worrying, wondering what am I going to do with these lovely ladies as I am outnumbered 3 to 1. One thing I do know, these three ladies love my Huckleberry. He is my mother's son, the brother I always wanted and Val's buddy. We can't wait to see him. So, Huckleberry, get yourself ready for your adoring fan club. Woo Hoo!
My second mission was to stop into Open Drawer Boutique in Sidney on Main Street, where many of my painted crafts are there for sale. This neat little shop is filled to the rafters with all sorts of goodies. The prices are so reasonable that I usually end of purchasing gifts for family and friends for under $10. Where else can you shop like that? Forget about WalMart as the crafts are handmade by local people. The owner wants me to bring in all my Fall and Christmas crafts as they are selling already. You won't regret visiting this little shop with so much to see and best of all, the prices are incredibly reasonable. Enjoy your shopping spree!!
What is 200 feet long and in an oblong loop and holds a considerable amount of weight? Have you figured out my hint, yet? You hope for a little breeze. The weight diminishes as the sun shines down. Are you any closer to the answer? Well, I am out of hints, so Mom and I purchased a new clothesline and pulleys as her clothesline was threadbare and ready to collapse with all the laundry that she does. She is the Laundry Queen and loves to do laundry. I am not that fond of doing laundry like her, but I've done my fair share of loads of laundry over the years.
When we arrived at the Hardware store, we had to measure out the clothesline on their plank wooden floor. All the customers there came to our assistance in measuring out Mom's clothesline. Yes, indeed, it is 200 feet long. We are ready to install the pulleys and clothesline as mom can't be without her laundry line.
Claudia, the mom of one of my students, Michael, who is super talented, celebrated her birthday today. Her children live quite a distance away, so Mom and I popped over there to deliver a small gift. She was thrilled with our visit. Her children, Heather and Michael had sent her beautiful, breathtaking bouquets of orange, yellow sunflowers with complimentary colored roses. She was thrilled with these. She said our visit was a great surprise and my visit was the best gift I could give her. How sweet is that! Happy Birthday, Claud and Congratulations on your baby granddaughter that resembles you in so many ways. Sienna Rose is precious and she truly is your best gift ever. Enjoy this cutie patootie as she grows.
Well, all these errands have gotten me tired out, so the last item on my list is a good night's sleep.
Tomorrow, we are off to check out another house that needs a new kitchen. Other than that, this house is lovely, too. My contractor will be figuring out the possibility of this renovation. I know that it will be an expensive undertaking, but checking it out won't hurt. I could consult with the food queen, Racheal Ray. Perhaps, she could start a show called the Extreme Kitchen Makeover. Sign me up!
So, I shall dream of the dream kitchen in my dreams tonite.
May your list of errands bring you a new do, a gift to give to your family or friends, 200 feet of clothesline to hang up those whites and darks and a birthday wish for a family member and/or friend.
