It's a small world after all.

I called my sister, Sue, to find out how long it takes a pilot to fly from Fairport, NY to Sidney, NY, since a business from the Rochester area does business at Mead, where she works. The owner flies down to deliver his products to my sister. He said it takes about 35 minutes.

Meanwhile, as she was tracking down flight times, my Angel Flight pilot returned my call stating that once he arrived at the airport, it would take 35 minutes by crow to pick me up. This fellow was wonderful to me, answering all my questions. I thought that Angel Flight through donations, funded the gas for the pilots, but this is not true. A pilot for Angel Flight must volunteer his/her time, aircraft and the gas. I offered to pay him for the gas as the price is soaring-no pun intended here-and my pilot said no. I told him that it would make me feel better if I could. I received the same reply-his reasoning-he loves to fly, he can make a difference in the lives of people, who are in need and he can write it off on his taxes. What a kind, giving individual! I'll be his first transplant patient.

My sister received a phone call from her pilot. He said to my sister, you are not going to believe this, but I was talking to my friend and he said he was going to be flying to Sidney to pick up a lady, who needs a double lung transplant there. My sister piped up and said that is my sister, who needs the lung transplant. He was stunned, I imagine. What are the chances of that? Maybe, I should be playing the loto. But better than any loto will be a successful transplant and a life filled with possibilities. Well, it truly is a small world after all.

May all of your life's coincidences be on the positive side.
