Received the official phone call from Pitts.!!!! I am officially listed as of today. WOO HOO!! Wait until I can really shout that outloud. You will hear it for miles around. Boy,there is a lot to a transplant. Oh girl, but how sweet it will be when it is all said and done.
As I was going over all the ins and outs of what I should expect-expect the unexpected is the motto when it comes to a transplant for many reasons, I had someone calling me and I couldn't abandon my good news transplant coordinator. So, I retrieved the name and number of my anonymous caller. I called back only to find this wonderful, kind hearted, positive individual named Jerry, who had a lung transplant. He was calling to see how I was doing, if he could answer any of my questions, helpful hints before and after transplant, and the offer to call him any time to talk about my forthcoming transplant. What a dear. His wife, Diane sounds like an inspiration as she has been right at Jerry's side through this and much more. Bless them both. Jerry said that he couldn't have done what he has done if it wasn't for Diane. What a compliment. Thay just recited their vows again, I believe, for another 29 years. Many cheers to them and happy times.
Jaci, one of my college friends asked him to contact me and I thank you Jaci for introducing Jerry to me. Jaci also noted that she has been a runner too for many, many, many years (her statement, not mine) if you are wondering how old she is. We now will have Jaci, Jamie and myself in a marathon. I think I will have to change my name to fit in with the girls- any suggestions for a J name? On that note, I will be signing off now. Thanks all.
May you aspire to inspire. One phone call can make all the difference. True love is Jerry and Diane-there for each other through the good and the bad, always focusing on the good. What a love story!!
