Paul, my transplant coordinator called to say I had to send confirmation that I do not have cancer in order to be accepted for the transplant. So, I took care of that immediately and hope that next week I'll be officially listed. Yeah!! Paul gave me more info. on the surgery - 6 to 8 hours, sleep for about 6 hours afterwards, then try to come off the ventilator-that could be a challenge. Paul said it will feel like I have a foot stuck in my throat. So much for me putting my foot in my mouth, sometimes. This certainly gives it a new meaning. I am hoping that I can handle being on the ventilator. I won't be able to talk, but I can write on a white board. I used white boards all the time when I was teaching French. How ironic! Now, I'll be using them to communicate like they did.
May you not put your foot in your mouth and may you not need a white board to communicate.
